What this changes, and what it does not.

The export changes pixel dimensions and writes PNG pixels-per-metre metadata corresponding to the selected ppi. Actual print dimensions can differ slightly because pixel counts and metadata are integers.

It does not recover missing detail, embed CMYK profiles, validate a publisher’s artwork policy, or certify scientific image integrity. Keep original images for quantitative analysis.
